  1. Q:  Do you think that in his work he predicted the 
  2. things we‚Äôve seen happen in the last few years?
  3.  
  4. A:  Well, he never predicted the future, never ever 
  5. tried to. And that was one of the things that 
  6. irritated people. He said, ‚ÄúNo, no, there a lot of 
  7. groups of people busy predicting the future. I‚Äôll 
  8. leave them to it. That‚Äôs futurologists, and certain 
  9. sociologists, and so on. That‚Äôs their job to look at 
  10. the future. And historians take care of the past.‚Äù 
  11. He said, ‚ÄúI‚Äôll tackle the really tough one: the 
  12. present. Let me see if I can predict the present.‚Äù 
  13. Which is damn near impossible. So he spent his time 
  14. trying to predict the present, not the future. He
